Because I was not finding exactly what I wanted in a real, live PDC in the Southeast, I shifted gears to look for online courses. Here I found a wider selection of resources .  Plus a bunch of them are FREE!! Here they are:

Barking Frogs Permaculture:  I mentioned this resource in my  last post.  This fee based course will start in February 2012.  Here is a link to their reading list which includes a number of articles from the Yankee Permaculture Publications and International Permaculture Species  Yearbook.  On successful completion of the class, you will receive a permaculture design certificate.

ACS Distance Learning Class:  This is s distance learning permaculture class from an program with instructors based in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand. On successful completion of the class, you will receive a permaculture design certificate.

Happily Distracted Permaculture:  This is s distance learning permaculture class from a school just  outside  Asheville, NC. On successful completion of the class, you will receive a permaculture design certificate.

Permaculture Education Center This is s distance learning permaculture class from a center in Tennessee. On successful completion of the class, you will receive a permaculture design certificate.

Permaculture Visions Design Course:  This is s distance learning permaculture class from a school in Australia. This online program graduates students from over 5 0 countries. This may be one of the oldest online programs, operating since in 1993. Permaculture Visions confers students with a permaculture design certificate on successful completion of the class.

Here are some good free online resources:

Permaculture Design in Wiki Educator: This is the outline and course materials from a Permaculture Design Course held at Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin, New Zealand from July 22 – November 18 2010. The site includes great links to video, reading and homework assignments.

Shires Permaculture: This is the outline and some course materials from an ongoing (in June 2011) class based (I believe) in the UK.

Milkwood Permaculture:  Milkwood is currently providing great notes from their ongoing PDC.  Milkwood is located in New South Wales, Australia.

Introduction to Permaculture: Forty hours of free permaculture lectures.

Please let me know of any others you find.
